Food Safety Education and Training

The Institute for Food Safety and Health (IFSH), in conjunction with the Illinois Institute of Technology’s School of Applied Technology, offers masters degrees and professional certificates in food safety, food technology, and food process engineering. Instructors for the certificate program are drawn from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the food industry, and IFSH/IIT.

In connection with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), IFSH’s Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), and Sprout Safety Alliance (SSA) is taking a lead role in by developing and delivering educational programs that assist the food industry and sprout growers comply with the preventive controls regulations that will be promulgated in response to FSMA.
