A brief overview of the FSPCA’s human food activities were given, and new Animal Food Subcommittee members were introduced. The Subcommittee discussed the training materials that will be developed for animal food, specifically that the committee will soon receive the human food training materials and will alter them to be applicable for animal food. The training materials for animal food will also include examples of animal food safety models. The Subcommittee decided to form a training curriculum editorial group, which will be the main developers and editors of the animal food training curriculum and associated materials. In addition to the training curriculum, the Subcommittee is tasked with providing technical information to FDA for the development of an animal food hazard guidance.
