2019 Steering Committee Meeting Summaries

February 13, 2019

Due to many requests, it was decided that IA online course PPT slides (.pdf) public versions will be posted on the FSPCA website, available for download. The FSPCA 3rd Annual Conference is on October 23-24, 2019 at the Chicago Marriott Southwest at Burr Ridge.

June 12, 2019

IIT-IFPTI-AFDO will meet at IIT (before the grant ends on August 31), to assemble an agreement for use of non-program income. This will lay out how FSPCA will handle funds going forward. The FSPCA Annual Conference is October 22-23, 2019 at the Chicago Marriott Burr Ridge. Amazon Bookstore will go live July 1st—a roll out plan will be developed on how we will communicate this information to the LIs.

August 21, 2019

IIT-IFPTI-AFDO is meeting at IIT on August 14th to assemble an agreement for use of non-program income. The ToT Work Group is in the process of sending communications to all FSPCA Lead Instructors to discuss updates to the Instructor Portals, new course registration form, new FSPCA Policy regarding course registrations, etc.

September 11, 2019

FSPCA/IFPTI will be putting together a small task force group to explore the needs of large food companies to train their many employees. The Intentional Adulteration Food Defense Plan Preparation and Reanalysis content is still being developed. The target date is December 2019. The FSVP Blended Course rollout will start with a webinar scheduled on September 27th. FSPCA’s 3rd Annual Conference is being held at the Chicago Marriott Burr Ridge on October 22-23, 2019.

October 23, 2019

Members met face-to-face after the FSPCA Annual Conference. FSPCA is now in the post-grant transition period. An Executive Advisory Board is being formed. When in place, the Executive Advisory Board will look at the existing Committees, Subcommittees, and Work Groups and will propose a new structure.

November 13, 2019

FSPCA is at a breakpoint where we are now ready to begin implementing some of the recommendations of the Strategic Plan. As of now, it is business as usual, but we are in the process of establishing an FSPCA Executive Advisory Board.
