IFSH held its Annual Member Meeting on September 26-27, 2017 at the Chicago Marriot Southwest in Burr Ridge, IL. There were over 170 registrants comprised of FDA and IIT scientists, and food industry professionals, with more than 50 industry companies represented at the meeting. The meeting covered a number of timely topics related to FSMA implementation and on emerging issues in food safety and health. Featured FDA speakers in program order were: Susan Mayne, Ph.D., Director FDA Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), Jenny Scott, Senior Advisor, FDA CFSAN Office of Food Safety and Bill Weissinger, Director FDA Chicago District Office. Invited keynote presenter, Eric Hentges, Ph.D., Executive Director, International Life Science Institute of North America spoke about the Scientific Excellence and Integrity in Research. Invited keynote presenter, Ruth Petran, Ph.D., Vice President of Food Safety and Public Health, Ecolab presented on The Power to Prevent and Protect: Leveraging Data to Identify Valid Controls.
